The Sign Stereotypes Explained

etherealastrologyy:

Aries:

Stereotype: Angry, yelling, and fighting all the time
Explanation: Aries are born to be leaders. They have a fiery aura that attracts people to them. They have a need to succeed and are confidant in themselves. They don’t have natural skill in dealing with stress, so they lash out at people, hence the yelling. Being the first sign, they are, once again, the leaders. Their traits of being loud and aggressive are so they can get their point across to a crowd effectively. However, in everyday life the Aries isn’t tasked with leading a group of people, so these traits can be overwhelming to individuals, or can be what draws people to them.

Taurus:

Stereotype: Stubbornly eating food
Explanation: Taurus need to feel safe, comforted, secure. They’re stubborn because they don’t want to lose what they have and go out of their comfort zone. The food they’re known for eating because it’s a way to feel comfort when nothing else is going their way.

Gemini:

Stereotype: Two-faced satan
Explanation: (My personal theory) Geminis are the most in touch with their emotions of the air signs, although they still share air sign traits. When they express their emotions, it’s one at a time. This results in their multiple “personalities,” because each emotion comes out at once, instead of blended like with the other signs.

Cancer:

Stereotype: Crying.
Explanation: Cancers are the most emotionally vulnerable of all the signs, it’s true, but they don’t just spend their days crying. They have so many emotions, and they want to express them so they can deal with them in a constructive way.The other option is for the Cancer to build an emotional wall and shut everyone out whilst pushing back their emotions until they’re total jerks, and does anyone really want that?

Leo:

Stereotype: Vain and attention seeking
Explanation: Leos are confidant in themselves, and aren’t afraid to show it. They find themselves the center of attention a lot because they know they can handle it. As a society, we see confidence as vanity in general, and so it can be tough for Leos as on of their main traits is confidence.

Virgo:

Stereotype: Boring and statistical
Explanation: Virgos do like things exact, but they like it as a way of improving the world around them. Logical thinking is what they know and what they do best, so they’re going to use it. Because we see logical thinkers as boring, we see Virgos the same way, but they can be just as weird as any other sign.

Libra:

Stereotype: Annoying, indecisive, and flaky
Explanation: Libras think with completely with their hearts, which is what people need to understand about them. They take a long time to make a decision because they don’t use their heads to weigh possible outcomes and figuring out what they really want is confusing, but once they do they’ll stick to their decision.

Scorpio:

Stereotype: Sex addicted Satan
Explanation: Scorpios are a sign that needs to be understood, but won’t explain. Scorpios feel a ton of emotions that they don’t know what to do with. They also feel emotions very deeply and intensely, perhaps the most so of any sign. Since Scorpios don’t want to explain themselves, they often become moody, withdrawn, or even depressed. Other signs don’t understand why this happens, and therefor come up with all these stereotypes of how Scorpios are scary, Satan, murderers, etc. because anger is one of the few emotions they know how to express. Anger doesn’t make them feel vulnerable. The reason for the sex addict stereotype ties into their fear of vulnerability and need to be understood. Sex is a way to open up to someone without actually being vulnerable. If you take the time to look into Scorpios, you see that they aren’t Satan, but more so sad.

Sagittarius:

Stereotype: Careless, preachy, opinionated jerk
Explanation: Sagittarius knows that it’s their life and they can do whatever they want. They’re not careless so much as knowing that nobody dictates their choices but them. Since they realize this, the choices they make are some they feel strongly about, so naturally they’ll want to defend them. If someone criticizes something they feel strongly about, of course they’re going to argue it.

Capricorn:

Stereotype: Antisocial workaholic
Explanation: Capricorns are ambitious, determined, and patient. It’s only natural that they would be drawn to working long hours, as they have the means to. Capricorns are goal oriented and unlike others, will dedicate their time to achieving that goal. They like the feeling of praise and accomplishment in their own way, and success gives them that, but it’s not all they do. Capricorns can do just the same in their leisure time that everyone else does and enjoy it just as much. Capricorns are also a quiet sign that doesn’t speak much. When they speak, they assume you’re listening, so they don’t bother repeating or explaining themselves, like more sociable signs would. This results in other signs not trying to continue a relationship with them, because their direct approve can appear intimidating, boring, or both.

Aquarius:

Stereotype: Cold and unemotional
Explanation: Aquarius is a fixed air sign. The air signs desire freedom and the fixed signs have a tendency to repress emotions. Combined, that results in a seemingly emotionless Aquarius. With their need to grow and feel free and independent while doing so, Aquarius sees the expression of emotions as confining, attaching them to others and forcing them to stay grounded. While they do feel emotion, contrary to popular belief, they prefer to deal with them on their own rather than by confiding in others

Pisces:

Stereotype: Crybaby dreamer
Explanation: Pisces is the sign of understanding an empathy. Pisces understand others so much that they feel their emotions themselves. As a result, Pisces cries for the other signs and has a strong desire to help them and make them happier. When Pisces is in the process of helping another, they will ignore any of their own emotional needs in favor of the other person. As a result, when they are comfortable enough with someone to let out their own emotions, they let it out all at once in a flood. Pisces aren’t weak crybabies, they’re strong enough to hold back until the time is right to let it out. Since Pisces feel the emotions of others, they want the world to be a better place, where nobody has to feel sad. That’s why Pisces are such idealists. Even though they have a fantasy they’re chasing, they’re not oblivious to reality, they just wish it’s what they want it to be.
