ARIES: Corpse Flower — The Corpse flower is not only one of the rarest plants but it is also the largest flower in the world. If you are ever luckily enough to find one though we don’t recommend smelling it. The flower gives off an odor that resembles rotting meat. But as the flower only blooms every thirty to forty years the chance of ever seeing one is very rare.
TAURUS: Gibraltar Campion — The Gibraltar Campion was reported to be extinct in 1992 but two years later the weak fragrance flower was found growing on the Cliffs Of Gibraltar. With help from Botanical gardens in London the Gibraltar Campion is slowly coming back from the dead.
GEMINI: Parrot’s Beak — The Parrot’s Beak is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world but unfortunately it is also one of the rarest. Native to the Canary Islands, this beak shaped flower loves to bloom in full sunshine. The flower has been in decline since 1884 and is now protected by law on the Canary Islands.
CANCER: Ghost Orchid — A ghost orchid is sort of spider shaped flower that is found in Cuba and Florida. It is a fussy plant, only growing under certain conditions which makes it rare to find. One of the unique features of this flower is that it has no leaves making it even more hard to find.
LEO: Kokia Cookei — The Kokia Cookei is one of the rarest flowers on the list with just 23 known plants left in the world. It was presumed to be extinct in the 1950s but since then several plants have been found and rescued.
VIRGO: Yellow and Purple Lady Slippers — Yellow and Purple Lady Slippers is the humerus name given to an orchid plant that is found mainly in England and a few other places in Europe. Due to it’s rarity the plant is very expensive to buy and is protected by law in England.
LIBRA: Middlemist Red — The Middlemist Red is the most rarest flower in the world with only two know plants being left in the world. One is in New Zealand and the other is in the United Kingdom. One of the last remaining species was rescued form China and botanists are currently searching for other plants related to the Middlemist Red.
SCORPIO: Chocolate Cosmos — The Chocolate Cosmos plants are native to Mexico and get their name because of the chocolate odor the flowers give off while blooming. It usually blooms in the evenings and due to the flower’s decline the government has passed laws to protect the areas in which it grows.
SAGITTARIUS: Rafflesia Arnoldii — The Rafflesia Arnoldii is a plant that is famous for producing the largest individual flower on earth. Similar to the Corpse Flower it releases an odor of decaying flesh. It is only found in the rain forests of Borneo and Sumatra.
CAPRICORN: Kadupul Flower — Very few people ever get to experience the beauty of the Kadupul flower as it only blooms at midnight and dies off before sunrise. The flower has a very strong fragrant but has become one of the most expensive flowers because of shorter life span.
AQUARIUS: Youtan Poluo — The Youtan Poluo is the smallest flower on the list and only blooms every 3000 years. Chinese legend tells that when the Youtan Poluo flowers it is a sign of the reincarnation of Buddha. Despite it’s rareness the Youtan poluo has also been found in Korea, Taiwan and even in the US. Many studies have been conducted on the plant to discover the secret behind the flower’s blooming habits but nothing has been learned yet.
PISCES: Jade Vine — The jade vine can be found in the tropical rain forests of the Philippines and is a member of the bean family. It’s flowers grow in a claw shape and vary in blue and green colors. Due to the destruction of it’s habitat the Jade Vine has become an endangered species.
